Graveside services for Violet Van Bolcum, age 86, of Fairfield, MT who died Wednesday, October 28, 2014 at Cambridge Court Assisted Living Center in Great Falls will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Choteau Cemetery.
Violet was born May 11, 1928 in Washington State, the daughter of Gottlieb and Katherine (Kries) Sackman. She was married to George Clark in 1946 in Sedro-WooLley, WA and they later divorced and she married Robert Van Bolcum on June 17, 1961 in Sedro-WooLley, WA and he preceded her in death. She moved to Fairfield, MT in 1963 from Washington. She was a homemaker and also was a cook at the Greenfield Grade School for 15 years.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and was active in the Fairfield Eagle's Lodge. She enjoyed quilting and sewing, playing solitaire and working crossword puzzles.
Violet is survived by children: Judy Monrad of Concrete, WA, Kathryn HuttOn of Buckley, WA, Joe Van Bolcum of Fairfield, MT, Leslie Clark of Mt. Vernon, WA and George Clark of Dallas, OR; a brother: Leroy Sackman of Burlington, WA, 8 grandchildren: Greg Monrad of Anchorage, AK, Steve Monrad of Anacortes, WA, Scott Sommers of Seattle, WA, Jennifer Rodgers of Redmond, WA, Jason Clark of San Diego, CA, Alisa Orton of Clear Lake, WA, Danyell Enquist of Mt. Vernon, WA and Russell Clark of Salem, OR; and 19 great grandchildren.
