Verna Lucille Lennon, 94, died Oct. 24, 2017, at the Teton Medical Center, of natural causes. Verna was born Jan. 7, 1923, to Peter and Aurelia Rorvik, in Terry, Montana. She grew up on a wheat farm as an only child. Her only playmate was her Border-Collie, Shep. At an early age Verna took to playing the piano, she was self-taught. She could play any song after hearing it played once, this talent served her throughout her life. Verna played the piano in bands for over 60 years, it was Verna's wish to be remembered for her music.
In 1940, after graduating from high school in Brockway, Montana, Verna moved to Great Falls, Montana to attend business school. She attended school during the day and played piano in local bands at night to support herself. On Feb. 18, 1943, in Great Falls, she married Arnold Dean Mann, together they had five children, before divorcing in Dec. 1961. In March 1962, in Helena, Montana, Verna married Laurence G. Lennon. Verna and Laurence were members of the LDS Church for over 30 years and served a mission together. They were married for 52 years when Laurence passed away on April 27, 2014. They are now reunited in paradise.
She is survived by her children, Reid Vernon Mann (Phoenix, AZ), Rod Mann (Ronan, MT), Janice Brown (San Antonio, TX), Kevin Dean Mann (Monterey, CA), two step-children, Alice Hamm (North Dakota), Beverly Hofliger (Missoula, MT), 15 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
Verna was proceeded in death by her late husband, Laurence G. Lennon, her daughter, Arlette J. Steed, and her ex-husband Arnold D. Mann. Services will be in the spring of 2018
