Stephanie Harrell-Schmidt

December 3, 1975 — June 17, 2015

Stephanie Dean Harrell-Schmidt, 39, passed away on June 17th, 2015 as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Funeral Services will be held on June 22nd, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Fairfield High School Gymnasium. Arrangements were handled by Gorder Jensen Funeral Home of Choteau.

Stephanie (Rosie) was born on December 3rd, 1975 to the proud parents of Thurston D (Sonny) and Margaret Harrell. She was raised in Fairfield, Montana where she attended Fairfield Schools graduating in May of 1995 after a successful career as a Lady Eagle. On April 29th, 1995 Stephanie married her high school sweetheart, Joshua Isak Isakson. Josh and Stephanie welcomed a new addition to their family, and Triston Joshua was born on September 30th, 1995. Taleigh Dean was the next to enter their family on October 8th, 1997.

In the spring of 2000 Stephanie enrolled in college majoring in Elementary Education through MSU-Northern. Stephanie graduated with her Bachelors in 2004, along with the welcoming of their last, but definitely not the least, addition to their family on March 6th, 2002 - Teigan Isak was born. In the fall of 2005 Stephanie and her family moved to Geyser, Montana where she started her teaching and coaching career as the head girls' basketball and volleyball coach. However, after her first year in Geyser she had to resign secondary to her son, Teigan, who was diagnosed with Leukemia.

In the fall of 2008, and with Teigan now in remission, she returned to teaching and assumed the Special Education Teacher position for Cascade Public School. In the fall of 2009 the family returned to their hometown of Fairfield, MT and Stephanie accepted the Kindergarten position. In 2010, Josh and Stephanie divorced, but remained in the Fairfield Community. In the fall of 2011 Stephanie moved up as the 6th grade teacher and became the Lady Eagles Volleyball Coach. On June 15th, 2012 Stephanie married Michael Schmidt, and in combination with co-parenting with Josh, Stephanie and Mike added her nephew, Jordan, to the household. This would be Stephanie's last example of her character and unselfishness she would be able to demonstrate prior to her tragic passing on June 17th, 2015.

Throughout Stephanie Dean's life she exemplified many positive attributes. Yet, none greater than her ability to connect with the individual needs and spirit of her students and athletes. She defined the terms strength and success. She was a phenomenal mother, teacher, coach, friend, daughter, and sister. Her courage and determination was at a level unattainable by most. Her life accomplishments will be displayed forever within her children and students that had the opportunity to be taught by her. We love you Rosie. Our lives are forever blessed because you were a part of them.

Stephanie is survived by her parents; Thurston D Sonny (Dawn) Harrell and Margaret Lynn Harrell, her husband, Michael Schmidt, her beloved children, Triston, Taleigh, and Teigan Isakson.
