Ruth Krone

Ruth M. Krone, of Augusta and Choteau, passed away September 2, 2020 at the Beehive Home in Choteau, she was six days shy of her 94th birthday. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Gorder-Jensen Funeral Home and a private scattering of Ruth's remains will take place at a later date on the family ranch near Augusta.



Ruth was born September 8, 1926 in Sidney, Montana to Elva Frank and Arvilla (Lassard) McMorris, she was one of four daughters. Ruth graduated from Harden High School and shortly after met the love of her life Porter "Ray" Krone. The couple was married January 11, 1946 in Santa Anna, California and had 3 children. The family moved to Augusta in 1948 and bought the family ranch.



Ruth took the challenge of being a ranch wife head on. When she wasn't helping on the ranch or taking care of the kids, Ruth could be found cooking or sewing. She made all of Ray's clothes. Ruth and Ray were "sports fanatics" and always attended their kids and grandkids sporting events.



Ruth is survived by her children Valerie Isakson of Choteau, son Lance Krone of Augusta, 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 2 1/2 great-great-grandchildren.



Ruth is pre deceased by her husband Porter "Ray" Krone, son Larry Krone, her parents and 3 sisters Elva, Eileen and Rita.



In Lieu of flowers memorials in Ruth's name are suggested to Augusta Ambulance, Augusta Fire Department and the Augusta Historical Museum.
