Robert Wood

Robert "Bob" Dale Wood, 87 of Fort Shaw, passed away unexpectedly September 4, 2021 at Benefis Hospital in Great Falls. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Gorder-Jensen Funeral Home and per Bob's wishes there will be no services at this time.



Bob was born December 7, 1933 in Frontier County, Nebraska to Dale and Violet (Mortimore) Wood, he was the oldest of three children. Bob attended school and graduated in Stockville Nebraska. On September 17, 1951 married the love of his life Peggy Banzhaf. The couple had four children; JoAnn, Diane, Mike and Rob.



Bob was a farmer through and through and spent most of his years working on the Wood family farm. He worked on the family until 1981 moved to Colorado. Bob spent ten years farming in Colorado and then moved back to Nebraska and lived and worked there until the family moved to Montana in 2007.



Bob could build anything and fix everything. He enjoyed wood working, lapidary, coin collecting, camping and inventing. He loved to spend time in the mountains cutting firewood. Hard work was one of Bobs favorite past times. Most of all Bob loved spending time with his family and his canine companion, Lil Bit.



Bob is survived by his sons Mike Wood of Fort Shaw, Montana; Rob (Olive) Wood of Erie, Pennsylvania; daughters Diane Rooks of Fort Shaw, Montana and JoAnn (Scott) Foster of Fort Shaw, Montana; his sister Ginger Hubbell of San Antonio, Texas and his brother Brad (Judy) Wood of Stockville, Nebraska. As well as seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews, a good friend of Peggy and Bob, Kathy Peach, and his dog Lil Bit and a special pig named Rosie.



Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Peggy Wood in 2015 and his parents Dale and Violet Wood.



In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bob's name can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
