A Gathering of Friends will take place at 1:00 PM Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the Augusta Senior Citizen's Center in Augusta, MT for Robert "Bob" Van Cooper, age 76, of Augusta, MT who died Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at his home in Augusta, MT from natural causes. Cremation has taken lace under the direction of Gorder Jensen Funeral Home of Choteau.
Bob was born January 31, 1937 in Hutchinson, Kansas, the son of William Oral and Carrie (Morgan) Cooper. He was married to Dee Jenson on November 22, 1960 in Albuquerque, NM. He was a veteran of the US Army at the end of the Viet Nam Conflict. He moved to Choteau 17 years ago from Vanderhoof, BC, Canada.
Bob owned and operated Western Sky Electric Co. PLLC in Augusta, M. He was a Methodist, a member of the Augusta American Legion and the P.R.C.A. He enjoyed rodeo and training hoses.
He is survived by his wife, Dee of the family home in Augusta, MT; children: Keeli Wright of Vaughn, MT and Clay Cooper of Vanderhoof, BC, Canada; a sister: Gale Smith of Carlsbad, NM and 4 grandchildren: Brylee Wright and Zoey Wright of Vaughn, MT, Zane Cooper and Cassie Cooper of Vanderhoof, BC, Canada.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Kate Brown and Cora Louise McElroy.
