Robert Archer

May 17, 1934 — December 14, 2018

Robert Elroy Archer, 84, of Choteau, passed away at his home on December 14, 2018 from complications of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.

Robert was born in Sioux City, Iowa on May 17, 1934 to parents Jesse Archer and Edith (Powers) Archer. After surviving a rough childhood and early adulthood, Bob met and married Marilyn Haller. Raising Marilyn's 4 children opened a new life for Bob. When Dan, his only biological son, was born, he settled in Staples, MN with his growing family. Tragically, Marilyn passed away of cancer in January of 1983. Upon moving to Great Falls, MT, he met Michele and two years later, they were married adding Michele's 3 children to the brood. Bob never made a distinction between step and biologic children and loved all of them as his own.

After leaving his career as a Railcar repair inspector, the household returned to Montana and settled in Choteau. Bob is best remembered here as the neighborhood bartender, school custodian and school bus driver. He spent any spare time hunting pheasants with friends and family each year and travelling back to MN to fish for walleyes.

Robert is survived by his wife of 33 years Michele Archer. His children Lynn(Chris) Eckstrom, Lori(Steve) Hagan, Kurt Haller, Kim Suzanne Archer, Dan(Jill) Archer, Aaron(Heidi) Archer, Tamara(Joe) Horvath, Josh(Sarah) Archer as well as 18 grandchildren and "a ton" of Great-Grandchildren

Robert is preceded in death by his mother, Edith, his father, Jesse and step-father, Earl. His brother jack and his 1st wife Marilyn.

Cremation has taken place, at Bob's request, under the direction of Gorder-Jensen Funeral Home. No services will be held.
