Peggy Kimmet passed away peacefully in her sleep, February 9, 2025, after spending the day watching the Super Bowl, eating popcorn and milkshakes.
Peggy Faye Breuer, of Choteau Montana formerly of Sunburst, was born the youngest of three girls to William (Bill) and Minnette Paige Breuer. Peggy was born in Pelican Rapids, MN on July 28, 1938. The Breuer family later moved to Dillworth where Peggy attended and graduated from High School.
After graduation, Peggy worked a brief time as a receptionist in a doctor's office in Dillworth then she packed up her bags and moved to Montana. Here she met Kiehl Nutter, who was a friend of her Breuer cousins.
Peggy married Kiehl Nutter, December 7th, 1957. Peggy worked on the ranch helping with cattle, sheep, haying and grain harvest while she raised kids. She cooked for kids, cousins, crews, sheepherders and hired men and still found time to drive tractors in the field. After 36 years of marriage and five children, Kiehl lost his battle with cancer on March 2, 1993.
While Kiehl battled cancer, Peggy through long distance learning and many trips to Great Falls earned her Business Degree. She later worked for the USDA as a meat inspector, flying all over the country to work in the large packing plants. She then worked for a few years at the furniture store in Shelby, MT.
Peggy later moved to Choteau and married Jerry Kimmet on February 2, 2000, whom she shared many snowmobile and sand dune adventures with and enjoyed helping care for their huge park-like yard, filled with bird feeders, statues, fountains, and grizzly bears.
Peggy proclaimed Jesus Christ as her savior and was a praying woman. We know she is truly home.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Lorraine Plantz, first husband Kiehl Nutter, their youngest son, James Nutter, and granddaughter Stephanie Faye Diane Benson.
She is survived by her husband Jerry Kimmet, sister Shirley Anderson of Hawley, MN and children, Carol Keats, Sunburst, Maggie Nutter, Sweet Grass, John Nutter, Gresham OR and Edna Streit, Saco, MT.
Cards for the family can be sent to Frontier Funeral Home, PO Box 267, Choteau, MT 59422.
