MADISON, AL - Paulet Louise Mayson - Barker, 43, of Madison, Alabama passed away and into the hands of our Lord on Wednesday July 15, 2014 at her residence in Madison.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the Choteau Cemetery. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Spry Funeral Home and Crematory in Huntsville, AL.
Paulet was born October 23, 1970 to Danny and Roberta Mayson in Billings, MT. She graduated from Choteau High School in Choteau, MT. During her time at Choteau High, Paulet was active in girls volleyball and girls basketball earning letters in both sports.
In September 1989 she married Aaron Kelly in Choteau and she became an Air Force Bride and moved with their family to several locations during Aaron's deployments including Rapid City, South Dakota, Honolulu, Hawaii, Belle Fourche, South Dakota, The Azores Islands, Wichita Falls, Texas, and Huntsville, AL. During their moves, Paulet and Aaron were blessed with their son Zachery and daughter, Madison. They were later divorced.
While working at the Humane Society in Huntsville, AL in 2006, Paulet met Michael Barker. After their employment at the Humane Society, together Mike and Paulet traveled by truck for a large commercial carrier delivering goods to all parts of the Central and Eastern United States. They enjoyed their time together on the road and also at home to take care of their adopted feline family Zander and Elvis. Many animals stopped by for a few days at Mike and Paulet's illustrating their love and compassion for our four legged friends. Paulet's other enjoyment was cooking meals and baking treats for her family and friends. Mike and Paulet were married in Madison on July 7, 2011.
In early 2011, Paulet was diagnosed with breast cancer and her time on the road with Mike, unfortunately came to an end when she could no longer travel. She never recovered from this tragic disease and recently the breast cancer took her life.
Paulet is survived by her loving husband and soul mate of 3 years Michael of Madison, AL, Sons Zachery Kelly of Huntsville, AL and Matthew Barker of Montgomery, AL, and daughter Madison of Jackson, AL; mother: Roberta Mayson of Choteau, MT; Sister Leta Haisler of Juneau, AK; Brothers Michael Murphy of Willow, AL and Kirt Mayson (Julie) of Butte; and Nieces Tiffany Mayson, Chelsey Durkin and Rachel Durkin of Butte, numerous aunts and uncles, and Godmother Carol Ekegren.
Paulet was preceded in death by her father, Danny Mayson, infant brother Kip and Godfather, Pete Ekegren and grandparents, Friis and Gertie Hansen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Stained Glass Window Project at Trinity Lutheran Church in Choteau or a memorial of the donor's choice.
