Nancy Stott

October 10, 1943 — July 4, 2024

Nancy Lynn Stott was born October 10, 1943, to Thomas Groot and Esther Spokely in Choteau, MT. She attended school in Farmington and Choteau and graduated from Choteau High School in 1962.

Nancy Spent all her life in the Choteau area. In August of 1962, she married Darell Stott. They would have been married 62 years this August.

Nancy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many ways over the years.

She lived on the Stott Farm all her married life. She died of natural causes on July 4, 2024, at her home on the farm, surrounded by family she loved.

Nancy was a true farm wife who worked right alongside her husband in the fields, bailing hay, chasing cows, taking meals out to the fields, and helping with what ever tasks needed to be done.

She was very resourceful in keeping her little children entertained while they worked. While driving the grain trucks, her girls played with their Barbies. And while they made their weekly trip hauling hogs to the market, she would read Dr. Seuss books to the boys.

Nancy enjoyed many activities with her family such as going to Glacier National Park, Fairmont Hot Springs and many camping trips. She rode horseback into the wilderness several times.

Some of Nancy's many talents included sewing and crafting of all types. She also loved to garden and plant flowers. Nancy loved animals, especially cats.

Darell & Nancy have 4 children that were all born in Choteau, MT.

Stacey (Stott) Johnson (Bret) of Salt Lake City, UT, Annette (Stott) Janssen (Joe) of Frenchtown, MT, Bill Stott (Leah) of Choteau, MT, Tom Stott (Heidi) of Conrad, MT.

They have 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and one more on the way.

Nancy is survived by her Husband, Darell, and Sister Rosie Bassman. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, one granddaughter, and her lifelong best friend, Ethelee.
