Monte was born on September 11th 1950 in Great Falls, Montana to Joseph and Rula Adamson. He grew up on the Family Farm West of Fairfield, and attended schools there. Graduating from High School in 1969.
During his senior year he met Janet Shepherd from Choteau and they dated that summer. In the fall they parted ways for a time; her to the Army and, in September 1970, him to the Montana Air National Guard. They wrote to each other and shared an occasional call. They were married on the 23rd of October 1971 in Choteau, MT. They were blessed with three children Christine, Marcus and Athena.
Monte's favorite things to do were year-round farming, harvest time, mowing, planting and watching the fields turn green. He loved winter afternoons, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, motorcycling, puzzling, the newspapers and most everything sweet or chocolate, and above all he loved his family and friends and enjoyed his time with his grand-children Matthew Sheldon, Sabrina Sheldon, Autumn Sheldon and Raidon Sheldon and great-grandchild Aurora Sheldon; plus his nieces and nephews.
Monte is survived by his wife, Janet, his children Christine (Neil) Sheldon, Marcus (Ashlyn) Adamson, and Athena (Mike) Degele; his sisters Doris Snarr and Arlene Allen and his nephew Ed (Jan) Adamson as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Monte was preceded in death by his father and mother, Joe and Rula Adamson, his brother Joe Adamson and his parents-in-law Gideon and Cecilia Shepherd.
