Mildred Pedersen

April 17, 1922 — June 8, 2014

Millie Charlton Pedersen passed away June 8, 2014 in Boulder, MT. She was born on April 17, 1922 in Roundup, MT, to Frank and Rose Balock. She was raised and educated in Roundup. She then went on to become a registered nurse, graduating from Columbus School of Nursing in Great Falls in 1943.

She married Clarence Charlton in 1943. They had three sons, Mike, David, and John. She and Clarence continued to live in Roundup where they raised their three boys, while Millie was employed as a nurse. After Clarence passed away in 1975, Millie moved to Billings and was employed at the Billings Clinic.

In 1982 Millie married Lloyd Pedersen and moved to the farm outside of Choteau. With this marriage she became stepmother to Pete's two children, Lloyd Jr. and Linda. Pete's children meant a great deal to Millie over the years. While in Choteau, Millie was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, VFW Auxiliary, Red Hat Ladies, and was a volunteer at Teton County Nursing home, the extended care unit, and many blood drawings.

Millie is proceeded in death by both her husbands, Clarence and Pete, her stepson Lloyd Jr., her parents, Frank and Rose, her siblings, Helen, Marge, Rose, and Luke.

She is survived by her son Mike (Betty) Charlton of Boulder, David Charlton of Corvallis, John (Linda) Charlton of Salem, OR, and stepdaughter Linda (Danny) Pedersen of Tucson, AZ. Millie is also survived by her five grandchildren, Brett (April) Charlton, Christopher (Angie) Charlton, Heather (Lorenzo) Snyder, Jeremiah Charlton, and Jarrett (Amanda) Charlton, and her 14 great grandchildren.

Millie was a very strong woman who lived through the great depression, WWII, long hours of nursing, and raising three very active boys. Anyone who knew Millie knew how much she loved live and lived it to the fullest. She will be missed!

Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00PM Thursday, June 12, 2014 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Choteau with interment to follow in the Choteau Cemetery under the direction of Gorder Jensen Funeral Home. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00PM on Wednesday, June 11th at the funeral home.
