Michael Ryan Pulis 1985-2018
Michael Ryan Pulis, 32, beloved by his family, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, the morning of April 7th, 2018 on the family ranch north of Choteau. Michael was born June 8th, 1985, in Livingston, Montana. He grew up on the family ranch in Wilsall, Montana. He loved the ranch life and work from his early years.
Michael went to school at Shields Valley School, Graduating in 2004. In high school among his favorite "subjects" was basketball and he excelled at it earning All-State honors. Michael attended 4 years at Montana State University following high School graduation earning a BS in Agriculture Operations Technology. He also continued to work at the family ranch. In his spare time Michael enjoyed his friends and outdoor activities including skiing, 4-wheeling, snowmobiling, hunting and hiking. One of those friends from Wilsall, Sarah Wrights, became his sweetheart and bride on 10-22-10 at Wilsall Community Church. They lived in Wilsall and Livingston before moving to Choteau, Montana the spring of 2014.
Michael attended Wilsall Community Church with his family in his growing up years. He made a profession of belief in God and was baptized in High School. After moving to Choteau he became a member of Choteau Baptist Church. Life had not always been easy for Michael as he dealt with anxiety and other struggles in his life but recently had grown in his faith in God. He especially appreciated the personal input through the years of several pastors in his life and many other friends and family who encouraged and helped him in his journey through life.
Michael and Sarah have 3 children: Ali May, 5, Katelyn Nicole, 3, and Taylor Rose, 1 1/2. He so loved and enjoyed his girls and was looking forward to his 4th girl in June. Michael loved the ranch life: red angus cattle, farming, haying and small town community. He was a skilled operator of farm machinery and handling cattle. He was always ready to help a neighbor in need and enjoyed harvesting wheat with his brother-in-law in northeast Montana. Michael made many new friends in Choteau and enjoyed his church family at the Baptist Church.
Micheal was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ivan and Bessie Pulis, Ruth Tucker, and Keith Rankin; aunt, Ruth Carder; and uncle, Roy Rankin. Michael is survived by his wife, Sarah; children Ali, Katelyn and Taylor and his 4th daughter due in June; parents, Dwight and Sue Pulis of Choteau; sisters Rachelle Shimmin of Bozeman and Stephanie (Jason) Brown of Lustre, Montana; Step-grandfather, Wally (Jeannette) Tucker; 16 nieces and nephews; 24 cousins and 13 aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 12th at 5:00pm - 8:00 pm at Gorder-Jensen Funeral Home in Choteau. Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 13th at 1:00 pm at Choteau Baptist Church with burial services following at Choteau Cemetery. All are invited back to the church for a reception.
