Martha Bruno

June 5, 1949 — February 11, 2013

Martha (Marty) Maxine Bruno, 63, of Choteau, MT, lost her battle to pancreatic cancer and entered Heaven's gates on February 11, 2013, where she passed at her mother's home in Black Eagle, MT.



A memorial service will be held Friday, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 38 1st Ave SW Choteau, MT at 10:00 A.M, with Pastor Jason Asselstine officiating. The family will be greeting friends and relatives immediately following the funeral at a luncheon downstairs. Burial of her ashes will follow at Choteau Cemetery. Gorder-Jensen Funeral Home is handling arrangements.



Marty was born on June 5, 1949, in Great Falls, Montana, to Maxine Depner and Art (Bud) Gruenhagen. She grew up and attended schools in Great Falls, MT. Throughout the years, she worked as a caregiver to the elderly.



Marty was united in marriage to Albert Bruno, Jr., on Sept. 17, 1977, in Cascade, Montana. They had one daughter, Michele (Missy), which was their pride and joy.



She enjoyed playing card games, crocheting, fishing, playing Nintendo, traveling with her mom, and spending time with her daughter, mom, family, and friends. She loved playing with her dog, Emily and Granddog, Lexi. Marty always said her greatest joy and accomplishment was being a mother. She always said her daughter, Missy, was truly the love of her life. She was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and friend and will be truly missed.



Marty is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Michele (Missy) and Mack Knecht of Choteau, MT; her mother, Maxine Depner of Black Eagle, MT; her sister, Bonnie (Jim) Cartwright of Great Falls, MT; brothers, Ken (Pat) Gruenhagen of Stevensville, MT, David (Linda) Gruenhagen of Reedsport, OR, and LL Smith; father Art (Bud) Gruenhagen of Missoula, MT; and numerous nieces & nephews, great and great-great nieces & nephews.



Marty was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, step-brother Dan Bateman, and grandparents, John & Martha Depner.
