Marie Gray

May 9, 1927 — September 18, 2012

Marie Gray, age 85, of Choteau, MT went to join the Lord on September 18, 2012 at her home in Choteau. She fought a very courageous battle with cancer. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 22, 2012 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Choteau. Visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm Friday, September 21, 2012 and a Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday at the Gorder Jensen Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Choteau Cemetery.



Marie was born May 9, 1927 to William and Flora Carrier. She was the youngest of 12 brothers and sisters, Fred, George, Joe, Lawrence, Frances (Cat), Ralph, Abe, Art, Helen, Isabel, Angie and also a sister, Agnes who died at birth.



Marie was a very private person with an enormous love for her family. Her poodle, Buddy, and her grandchildren were the love of her life. Marie loved her nieces and nephews like her own. She had such a big heart with so much love.



Marie's mother died when she was 2 years old. She lived with different family members until she was 5 years old and then she went to the Holy Family Mission until it closed and then her and her sister Angie went to St. Ignatius for about 1 years.



She married Alfred Gray on December 18, 1942 in Choteau and she worked for years at the Teton Nursing Home and the Choteau Bakery.



Marie is survived by 2 daughters: Elaine (Al) Wiseman and Freda (Bob) McCarthy, both of Choteau, MT and 5 grandchildren: Ron Wiseman of Stanford, MT, Shelly Capps and Angie McCarthy, both of Choteau, MT, Bobby (Josie) McCarthy of Phoenix, AZ and Jami (Clay) Courtright of Meacham, OR.



She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 12 brothers and sisters: Fred, Georgie, Joe, Lawrence, Francis (Cat), Ralph, Abe and Art Carrier, Helen Crocker, Isabel Ameline, Angie Hood and infant sister, Agnes Carrier.



Memorials are suggested to the Peace Hospice of Teton County or the American Cancer Society.
