LeAnn Marie Nickol (February 6th, 1957-November 20th, 2024)

LeAnn Marie Nickol (Choteau, Montana) passed away in Benifis Great Falls with her daughter Whitney by her side.

LeAnn was born to John and Betty Nickol and was the oldest of nine children. LeAnn was raised in rural Toole County. LeAnn grew up farming, driving grain trucks, participating in 4-H, and riding horses. LeAnn had a passion for horses that never wavered. LeAnn graduated from high school in Shelby, Montana in 1975. Leann would spend the early years of her life in Vantage, Washington training, and riding Arabian horses.

Later, LeAnn would return to Montana and have two children. LeAnn gave birth to Laura (Sherrard) in 1986, who was eventually diagnosed with Rett Syndrome. LeAnn devoted her life to caring for Laura. LeAnn's second daughter, Whitney (Bogert) was born in 1993. LeAnn moved to the Choteau area in 1994 to start her life anew with two young children by her side.

LeAnn had many jobs throughout her time in Choteau from working at Painted horseshoe ranch, Cooking at Head Start, a CNA at Teton County Nursing home, and cooking at Benefis Teton Medical Center. LeAnn in her spare time, would help children/adults gain confidence with horses by giving riding lessons. LeAnn enjoyed going to the mountains for trail rides, baking, teaching her son-in-law (Jerod) to make pickles, sewing, singing (in the car), and spending time with her daughter Whitney.

She was preceded in death by her soulmate Phil Norman, and father John Nickol. Survivors include daughters Laura Sherrard of Big Sandy, and Whitney (Jerod) Bogert of Tioga, ND. Mother Betty Nickol of Galata, Patrick (Linda) Nickol of Kalispell, Barbara (Jim) Bouma of Choteau, David (Patti) Nickol of Helena, Ramona Kinyon of Galata, Bernadette Nickol of Kalispell, Juanita (Ricardo) Rodriquez of Conrad, Philip (Leorra) Nickol of Shelby, Konrad Nickol of Missoula, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
