Lawrence R. Jordan

Lawrence “Larry” Robert Jordan was born December 24, 1947, in Fort Yates, North Dakota on
the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation. Larry’s family relocated to Browning, Montana in 1951.
Larry attended the Little Flower Parish in Browning with his mother Julia regularly. Larry was an
Altar Boy for many years. Larry attended the public schools of Browning. He graduated from
Browning High School in 1966. He then went on to complete his certification at the Colorado
School of Welding in 1967.
Larry met his wife Margie McLaughlin while in high school. She officially “snagged” him, and
they were married in October of 1966, they had recently celebrated their 57 th Wedding
Anniversary. Their first-born Ann Jordan wasn’t too far after they said their vows. Their second
child John Jordan came a handful of years later, and the baby of the family, Robert Jordan came
last.
Larry worked for the Blackfeet Tribe for 50 years, up to the time of his death. He loved his job
and all the people who he worked with.
Larry’s passions in life were his wife Margie, his children, his grandchildren, hunting, camping,
fishing, working, visiting with friends, sitting in his “shed”, listening to music while enjoying his
High Lifes’, playing softball with the Jazz, taking drives over Logan Pass, having picnics at Lake
McDonald with Margie’s famous fried chicken and potato salad, and Huckleberry picking with
family.
Family preceded in death are his Parents Alvin and Julia Jordan, his Brother Frank Jordan, his
little Sister Helen Jordan, Best Friend Dilly Whitegrass, and his beloved dog “tiny dancer” Pedro.
Family survived by are his Wife- Margie Jordan, Daughter- Ann Jordan, Son- John Jordan, Son-
Robert Jordan, Daughter In Law -Teresa Jordan. Grandchildren Cody Hudlow, Cheyanna Jordan,
Shelby Jordan, Jessi Jordan, Dani Jordan, Stella Jordan, and Claira Jordan. Sisters Loretta Jordan,
Joann Jordan, and Judy White. Brothers Alvin “Brother” Jordan Jr and Albert “Moose” Jordan.
