Laurence Gordon Lennon (Gordy), Gave up the battle and went to join His maker and all the family that has gone before him. He passed away on April 27th, 2014. 4 months and 6 days shy of his 100th Birthday
Gordon was born Sept 3th, 1914, in Reva, South Dakota. The family had a farm, and Dad and the rest of the kids helped keep it operating. Gordy came from a family of 6 other siblings, two sisters, Leona Linster and Laura Hess, 4 brothers, Daniel E Lennon,
Joseph L Lennon, Wilmer M Lennon, William (Bob) Lennon. All five brothers served in the US Military at the same time from 1941-1944. Gordon meet and married Clara I Alderdyce in 1949, of this union three daughters were born, Mary E (deceased) Alice M Hamm, of Carson City, NV, and Beverly Hafliger, Missoula, MT and Clara's son Dean Moor. Gordon and Clara were divorced in 1961,
Gorden married Verna Rorvick Mann on March 23 1962. Verna had five children, Reid, Arlette, Roddy, Kevin and Janice that Gordon love as his own. Dad was a very humble man of little words, but you always knew you were loved Gorden had Alzheimer's for the last three years, and most of the time was living in happy time's on the family farm with his family. He went peacefully in his sleep romping with his siblings that went before him. Gorden had many accomplishments in his life, he was a fantastic carpenter and wood worker. He prided himself of being from the generation that built houses from the ground up, foundation to the roof, and made handmade cabinets also. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Auxiliary and went through all the chairs to be President of the Auxiliary. Gordon was a religious man, he loved God and life.
Gordon is survived by his wife Verna of Choteau, MT, Daughters Alice (Jim)Hamm, Beverly Hafliger, a sonDean Moor, 7 Grand Children, Sara Mohr, Lisa Green, Steve Lennon, Jacob Lennon, Cory Hafliger, Jaymie Lennon, Christopher McElravy and 12 great-grandchildren From this side of the family, also Gordon's 5 step children 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren From Verna's side of the family.
Also, his brother Bob (Adelle) Lennon of South Dakota, Sister Laura (John) Hess of Roseburg, OR.
Rest well my father, you will be greatly missed, you have had a long good life. Love you, will miss you until we meet again.
There will be a family memorial at a later date at the Ft. Harrison VA cemetery in Helena, Montana.
