John N. Nordrum, 85, of Choteau, Montana entered eternal rest on April 15, 2020.
He was born April 9, 1935 to John Nelson Nordrum and Mary Marie (Stump) Nordrum in Charlevoix, Michigan. He graduated Sebewaing High School in Michigan in 1953 and later married Ruby Alma Gremel.
John is a veteran of the United States Naval Reserve and was honorably discharged in 1966. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from Michigan State. He started teaching at Okemos High School in Okemos, Michigan.
John and Ruby moved to Sand Coulee, Montana in 1964 where he resumed his teaching career at Great Falls Central in Great Falls, Montana and also began cattle ranching. He later transferred to Charles M. Russell High School where he taught mathematics until he retired in 1989.
Throughout his life, John enjoyed bird hunting over his English Setters, woodworking, photography of birds, playing his ukulele, coffee in the morning, trips to the mountains cutting firewood, spending time on the farm with his nieces and nephews and taking his grandkids fishing and birdwatching.
John is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruby Nordrum, his son, John Lance (Jennifer) Nordrum, and daughters, Kathje (Mitch) Griffis, Raandi (Kirk) Miller, Sonja (Bill) Peebles, Kellje (Karl) Ackerman, sister, Sonja (Larry) Johnson, brother, Mark (Mike) Nordrum, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
