Retired farmhand and oilfield and seismograph worker James Elmer "Fudd" West, 61, of Choteau died June 7, 2016, at Benefis hospital in Great Falls of natural causes.
A celebration of his life will be held June 23 at 3 p.m. at the Gorder Jensen Funeral Home chapel in Choteau.
Fudd was born Nov. 17, 1954, in Great Falls to Norman and Josephine (McLaughlin) West. He grew up in Choteau and Great Falls and attended Great Falls High School. After high school, he worked in various jobs associated with farming and ranching, oilfields and seismography.
Everyone Fudd met was his friend. He was a regular morning customer at Main Street Express and was a familiar face around town.
His survivors include his sister, Elsie Wilchek of San Antonio, Texas; a niece, Lynn Wilchek; and many cousins in Choteau and Great Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Norman West.
Memorials are suggested to the Choteau Baseball Commission and the Choteau Lions Club Swimming Pool.
A Barbecue will be held after the service at The Wagon Wheel Bar in Honor of our dearly departed friend.
