Hubert Arneson

April 9, 1927 — November 10, 2012

Hubert Doug Arneson passed away of natural causes on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at the Teton Medical Center in Choteau, MT, where he received excellent care from all, including his daughter Tracy who is employed there as a nurse.



Doug was born on April 9, 1927, the son of John and Amanda (Nordlund) Arneson. He was raised and graduated from high school in Opheim, then joined the Navy.



After the navy he attended college in Bozeman for a period of time then settled down and married JoAnn Thornton. They resided in the Glasgow area where they raised their 5 children together. After JoAnn's death, he then married Clara Barnby.



Doug was self-employed in grain elevator construction/repair, working mainly in northeastern Montana and Northwestern North Dakota until retirement. He was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan and attended several games with his son John and family. He enjoyed entertaining with his family and friends. In later years he enjoyed his daily visits to All Season's Home Center, in Glasgow for coffee and sweets.



He was preceded in death by both wives JoAnn Thornton Arneson and Clara Barnby Arneson, his brothers John Arneson, and Fordie Lewis, and his sister Arlene Larson.



He is survived by his daughter Terrie Arneson (Glasgow), son John and Leah Arneson (Glasgow), daughter Pam and Craig Heikens (Glasgow), daughter Tracy and Ben Crater (Choteau, MT), daughter Deb and Earl Probst (Glasgow), numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren, brother Jim Arneson of Glasgow and sister Marion Dunn of Barstow, CA.



A memorial will be held Monday, November 19, 2012 at 2 o'clock in the basement of Nemont Manor in Glasgow. TMC in Choteau will also have a memorial on November 29 at 2:30. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Gorder Jensen Funeral Home of Choteau, MT.
