Howard Roberts

April 30, 1933 — October 4, 2015

Howard Ralph Roberts, 82, went to be with his Savior on Sunday, October 4th, 2015, of natural causes. Howard was born in Washington, PA on April 30, 1933, the fourth son of the late Guy L. Roberts and Thelma Irene (Freeman) Roberts.

Howard graduated from high school and was drafted into the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. Howard met his future wife, Betty Wilt, while home on leave. They were married in August of 1955. Four children were born to them, and they celebrated sixty years of marriage this year.

Howard was part-owner of Roberts Oil Co. with his four brothers, until he brought his family to MT in 1966. In 1969, Howard & Betty purchased a farm on Sunny Slope. The farm held a special place in his heart. The picture windows of the home were designed to showcase their view of the Rocky Mountain Front, which he loved. Howard was then self-employed under Meadow Gold Dairies for twenty-two years. He also ran his own trucking business, Howard R. Roberts & Sons, and was a talented and hard working entrepreneur.

He was a loving husband and father.

His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed family gatherings. Howard has said,

"The most important thing is that my family knows Jesus, and they are following Him."

He is survived by his four children: Howard Guy (Julie) of Fairfield, Walter Clyde (Shauna) of Ulm, Joan Marie Myhre (Wes) of Fairfield, and Gary Eugene (Candace) of Fairfield. He is survived by his brother, Richard (Nancy) of Beaver Falls, PA as well.

Howard also is survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, and he loved every one of them. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers George, James, and Robert of Pennsylvania, and his great-granddaughter, Norah Joan Buford.

"Oh Lord, be gracious to us! We long for You. Be our strength every morning, our salvation in the time of distress." Isaiah 33:2
