Gary Allan Durocher, 75, of Choteau, passed away May 14, 2020 at Benefis Hospital in Great Falls, MT. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Gorder-Jensen Funeral Home. Due to current circumstances a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
Gary was born April 7, 1945 in Malta to Tig and Lucy Durocher, he was 1 of 6 children. He attended school in Montana graduating from Cut Bank High School with the class of 1963. Gary attended Carroll College in Helena where he played college football. He then went on to attend Montana State University in Bozeman, the University of Montana in Missoula and the College of Great Falls. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education and Physical Education. Gary worked for Cascade Public School System for 3 years and in 1974 he moved to Choteau and worked for the Choteau Public School System for 15 years. He was loved by his colleagues and all of the students, whose lives he touched.
Gary met and fell in love with Gail Baack. The couple was married Aug 24, 1994 at the Choteau Country Club. The union created a wonderful blended family, which Gary was very proud of. Gary was a football and track couch for Choteau Schools and enjoyed many outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing and golfing. He was a member of the Jaycees and was especially proud of his beautiful yard.
Gary is survived by his wife Gail of Choteau; his children Jody (Joleen) Durocher, Bill (Brooke) Durocher, Josh Durocher, Julie Durocher and Heather Baack all of Choteau. His siblings Mary Davis of Florence, MT; Brad Durocher of Anacortes, WA; Joe Durocher of Great Falls, MT; and Susan Durocher of Kalispell, MT as well as his grandchildren Nate, Whitney, Derrek, Payton, Payge, Trenton and Savannah Durocher and Ciara Baack.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Wayne.
