Frances Harshaw

Memorial graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 13, 2011 at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Farmington, MT for Frances M. Chalmers Harshaw, age 93, who died Monday, August 8, 2011 (her 93rd birthday) at the Teton Nursing Home in Choteau, Mt from natural causes. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Gorder-Jensen Funeral Home of Choteau.



Frances was the daughter of George William Wright and Mary Hannah (Wilson) Wright. She was born in Geraldine, MT on August 8, 1918.



She attended school in Choteau and in 1938 married Ben Chalmers. Together they owned and operated the Pontiac dealership. In 1966, they moved to Libby, Mt and built a trailer court, where they lived until Ben died in 1969. After Ben's death, Frances continued to operate the mobile home court. Ben and Frances had one son, Keith.



On January 21, 1974, she married Tom Harshaw from Bonner's Ferry, ID. They owned a farm equipment store. Tom passed away on July 26, 1997 in Libby, MT.



Frances was very artistic and enjoyed doing and teaching ceramics for many years in both Choteau and Libby. She took her training in Great Falls. She also loved to crochet and made many beautiful afghans.



Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, brothers, Ralph Martindale and Orville Wright, and her son, Keith Chalmers.



Frances is survived by her sister, Ethel Boggs of Kalispell, daughter-in-law, Jolene Fink of PA, grandson, Tracy Webb of Claridge, PA, granddaughter Sherri Webb of Kittanning, PA, numerous great grand and great, great grandchildren and nephews and nieces.
