Long time Dutton area resident Eileen Trebesch passed away peacefully of natural causes June 21, 2014. She was born to Jeanette and William Cusick in Dunkirk, Montana, September 10, 1916. She attended high school in Dutton and graduated in 1932 at the age of 15. She also attended Great Falls Business College and the College of Great Falls. She was an avid reader who possessed an incredible memory.
Eileen married Laurence Trebesch June 22,1935 and they continued to live in Dutton at the top of Main Street in a house they built until 1954 when they again built a larger house on acreage they had purchased along the Teton Ridge west of Dutton. Here they raised registered Angus Cattle, registered Quarter Horses, and of course, wheat, barley, oats and hay. They were fortunate enough to add to their holdings throughout the years. They also owned a cabin in the Benchmark area where the family enjoyed the outdoors as often as their busy schedule would permit.
Eileen was an active member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Dutton, Lutheran Ladies Aid, Home Demonstration Club, Montana Cow Belles, Montana Angus Association, the American Quarter Horse Association, the Montana Quarter Horse Association. She was active in various bowling leagues. Eileen was the local Avon Representative. She served many years as an election official. The Trebeschs travelled many miles to various Quarter Horse shows, High School rodeos, and many Angus events.
In their retirement years the Laurence and Eileen travelled to Europe, Hawaii, Canada, and Alaska and spent many winters in Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her husband Laurence, sister Jean, and brother Don.
She is survived by sons Gerald (Arlene) of Boise, Idaho and Richard (Annette) of Tucson, Arizona; grandchildren Shelley, Lance, Larry, Stephanie; great grandchildren Beck, Laken, Inga, Eleanor; and two first cousins Marcile Trebesch and Betty Burtness.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff of the Teton Nursing Home for all their tireless attention and loving, kind, and compassionate care provided to their beloved Eileen.
Services will be held at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Dutton Monday, June 30 at 11:00 A.M. Burial services will follow at the Dutton Cemetery. Arrangements by Gorder Funeral Home of Choteau.
