Edith Peterson

Edith (Hovland) Peterson, 90, passed away on July 3, 2015 at Benefis Teton Medical Center in Choteau of natural causes. Edith was born to Bertha Donovan and Sigurd Hovland on December 19, 1924 in Philadelphia, PA.
Edith met Rex Peterson while he was stationed at Fort Dix. They were married on January 19, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA, after which they both moved back to Choteau, MT and started Rex's Grocery in 1948. They both worked the grocery store until Rex's death in 2005.
Edith was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband Rex Peterson and daughter Carol Peterson - Dalton.
She is survived by her son Doug (Julie) Peterson and grandson, Derek Peterson all of Choteau, and a son-in-law, Kenneth Dalton of San Dimas, CA.
Graveside services will be held at 10am Wednesday, July 8th at the Choteau Cemetery. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Gorder Jensen Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given to TMC Foundation, Bright Eyes Animal Rehab or Peace Hospice of Montana. Online condolences may be left at www.gorderjensenfuneralhome.com
