Dutton - Dorothy L. Steil, 89, of Great Falls, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2019 at a care facility in Helena.
Dorothy was born to Ben and Mary Loch on July, 16, 1929. Dorothy received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics from Montana State University in Bozeman. Dorothy went on to teach two years at Belt High School. She continued her education and received her Masters Degree from Oregon State.
She married Glenn Steil at the St. Williams Catholic Church in Dutton on June, 26th, 1956. They had two sons, Ed (Brenda) Steil, Jim (Tanya) Steil and two daughters, Kathy (Joel) Overton and Marilyn (Pan) Smith.
Glenn and Dorothy farmed many years northeast of Dutton. While Glenn worked in Colstrip, Dorothy created a map of Colstrip.
While Dorothy lived in Dutton, she created the map of Dutton, and collected the historical history of St. Williams Catholic Church. She also created Teton Tepee which she designed many canvas tepees which could be found at many of Dutton's fund raisers. Dorothy volunteered many years to the Catholic Church Rummage Sale. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of Glenn who passed away on May 30th, 2000, sister, Betty Fuhringer, brother, John Loch, and parents, Ben and Mary Loch.
Survivors include seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
