Dorothy DeFrenne Seip, of Fairfield, passed away of natural causes Monday, March 14, 2016 at Teton Nursing Home in Choteau at the young age of 90. Services will be held at a later date.
Dorothy was born November 02, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois to Albert and Anne (Kybic) DeFrenne. Dorothy grew up on the outskirts of Chicago and Graduated with Honors in 1944 from Foreman High School. She was a member of the National Honor Society of Secondary Schools. She met her husband, Marvin Seip, and married on April 1st 1950 in Riverside, Illinois. The couple lived in San Diego, California while Marvin was in the Navy and later moved to the little town of Beardsley, Minnesota where Marvin had grown up. The couple was blessed with a daughter Diane in 1956. In 1957 the couple divorced and Dorothy moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 1960 she went to work as a waitress for Ember's Restaurant. Being a single mother, she invited her mom, Anne from Chicago to live with them. Dorothy bought a house just a mile away from the restaurant in 1968 and she lived there while she worked until she retired in 1997.
Dorothy loved her garden; her house was nestled in a forest of blooming flowers and bushes. She lived there until 2005 when she moved to Fairfield to be near her daughter, Diane.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Diane Hausmann Vincent, of Fairfield, Montana.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her father, Albert DeFrenne SR. in 1936; her brother Albert DeFrenne JR. in 1974; and her mother Anne (Kybic) DeFrenne in 1984.
Memorials are suggested to Bright Eyes care and rehab center in Choteau and The Fairfield Fire Department.
