Dorothy Reiner

April 9, 1917 — November 17, 2012

Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 PM December 1, 2012 at the Trinity Lutheran Church for Dorothy W. Reiner, age 95, of Choteau, who died Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Teton Medical Center from natural causes. Graveside committal services will be held at 3:00 PM December 1, 2012 at the Choteau Cemetery. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Gorder Jensen Funeral Home of Choteau.



Dorothy was born April 9,l 917 in Rapelje, MT, the daughter of Chester Charles and Flora Rose (Koerner) Clement. She attended elementary and high school at Rapelje, Montana and graduated in 1935. She graduated from Normal School in Billings and subsequently finished her undergraduate work from the College of Great Falls. She received her graduate work from Northern Montana College and the University of Montana.



Dorothy taught elementary grades and was girls' basketball coach for two years at Broadview, MT and taught second grade for two years at Troy, MT.



Dorothy married Bert Reiner at Missoula, MT on May 6, 1941. Bert and Dorothy were in business in Billings until they moved to Choteau in 1946 when they bought the Choteau Lockers.



Dorothy taught fourth grade at Choteau for 28 years and retired in 1983. She was a member of the Choteau Education Association serving as Secretary, Vice President and President.



She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School for seventeen years and was a member of the Church Council for six years. She served on the Trust Board and was secretary of Trinity Lutheran Church. Dorothy was also on the Board of Directors of Skyline Lodge and on the Teton County Board for the Council on Aging.



Dorothy was a member of Friends of the Library and Rapelje Order of Eastern Star and of the Rainbow Board of Choteau.



She was active in many volunteer projects at the Teton Memorial Hospital, Choteau Library, Teton County Blood Drawing, The Old Trail Museum and worked at the Cellerama at the Senior Citizen Center.



Dorothy is survived by her son, Don Reiner of Bellevue, WA; granddaughters, Sharman Stulc-Baird, Missoula, MT, and Anna Laferriere, Whitefish, MT and great granddaughters: Christina Stulc, Missoula, MT and Autumn Laferriere, Whitefish, MT and a son-in-law: Rod Stulc of Lewistown, MT..



She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved daughter, Nancy died of cancer in 2003 and a sister: Alice Hubbard.Memorials are suggested to the Teton Medical Center Extended Care Unit. Online condolences may be left at www.gorderjensenfuneralhome.com
