Choteau, MT - Dorothy A. Klotz of Choteau passed away August 19, 2017 of natural causes while at home with her loving family. She was born in Choteau on September 17, 1939 to Dave and Ellen Nesbit, the oldest of six children.
Dorothy married Leo Klotz Jr. in 1956 at Great Falls, MT. They were happily married for over 61 years and spent the majority of their time living together in Choteau.
She worked at a couple of cafes in her younger years, one of which (The Penguin) was owned by her father. She later began working at the Teton County Assessor's office in Choteau and after 20 years was elected as Teton County Assessor and retired there after her second 4 year term.
In her early years she enjoyed camping, fishing and boating with her husband Leo. Holter Lake was their favorite spot to get out to. She also spent much time fishing from the shores of nearby Eureka Reservoir with her good friend Jean Lensing. She enjoyed tending and caring for all the beautiful flowers that were around her house and loved spending time with family and watching her grandchildren grow. She loved to bowl.
She is survived by her husband Leo Klotz Jr., sons Larry (Sandy) Klotz of Missoula, Gary Klotz of Shelby and Davey (Delaine) Klotz of Heber City, UT, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, brothers Jimmy (Connie) Nesbit, Johnny Nesbit, Kenny Nesbit all of Choteau and Jack (Jeri Ann) Nesbit of Miles City.
She was preceded in death by her parents and Sister JoAnn Smith.
A grave side service will be held on August 30th at 11:00 AM at the Choteau Cemetery. Gorder-Jensen Funeral home is handling arrangements. A reception is to follow services at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Choteau.
