Retired homemaker Donna Mae Kind Stevenson, 78, of Choteau died Sept. 21, 2018, at Benefis Teton Medical Center on her parents' wedding anniversary.
In accordance with her wishes, a funeral will not take place. Her sons Richard Bricks and Robert Engum are hosting a reception to honor her life on Sept. 28 at the Choteau Country Club and invite friends and family to share their memories of her and enjoy coffee and desserts from 4 to 6 p.m.
She was born Aug. 16, 1940, to Oscar and Wanda (Drollinger) Kind at Kalispell and moved with her parents to the family's farm on the Sunny Slope Bench west of Fairfield in 1950.
Donna had friends throughout Montana, however, Choteau was always home and she had lived here 20-plus years before going into the BTMC long-term care facility. She enjoyed sewing, fishing, hunting, gardening and, most of all, yard sales.
Donna gave of herself, helping to raise her niece, Samantha Swenson Johnson, and volunteering where needed. She was known for her kindness and generosity.
Her survivors include her sisters, Mary Jean Armstrong of Choteau, Betty Short of Great Falls, Barb Carpenter of Bynum; her brother, Jerry Lee Kind of Great Falls; her children, Richard Bricks of Highwood and Robert Engum of Great Falls; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her children, Michael Bricks and Deborah Hietzenroder, and her grandson Michael Bricks Jr.
