With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Daryl (Ole) Olson, who peacefully left this world on August 13, 2023, at his cherished home in Augusta, Montana. Born in March of 1947 to proud parents Irvin and Martha Olson, Daryl's life was a testament to strength, service, and unwavering love.

Daryl's journey began in his beloved hometown, and as he grew, his determination and spirit led him to serve his country with honor and distinction. He proudly wore the uniform of a Marine and displayed exceptional bravery in the face of adversity, earning the prestigious Purple Heart for his sacrifices. After his time in the Marines, Daryl continued his commitment to service by joining the Montana Air National Guard as a supply technician, a role that allowed him to contribute to his community in a meaningful way.

Upon retiring from his military service, Daryl found solace and contentment in the picturesque town of Augusta, where he and his wife Teresa settled in 1989. Daryl was a man of many talents, and he dedicated himself to a variety of odd jobs that brought smiles to the faces of those he interacted with. His strong work ethic and friendly demeanor endeared him to all who knew him.

However, it was his role at Gibson Reservoir that truly captured his heart for 9 fulfilling years. Daryl's dedication and commitment shone bright as he worked diligently, leaving an indelible mark on both the reservoir and the lives he touched during his time there.

Daryl's greatest joy was undoubtedly his family, whom he loved with all his heart. His devotion to his wife of 43 years, Teresa, was a source of inspiration to all who witnessed their enduring bond. Daryl's legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren, who were the light of his life:

Nate Olson, along with his wife Leah and their children Caden and Colter; Ty Olson, and daughter Mia; Chad Olson, his wife Andrea and their children Ryan, Tymer, and Sophie; BethAnn Heilbrun, along with her husband Matt and their children Chase and Keelyn.

Daryl's memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, dedication, and unyielding love for his family will serve as a beacon of inspiration for generations to come.
