Cecilia Shepherd

Cecilia Josephine Shepherd, 86, of Choteau, MT passed away Friday, August 05, 2016 at Benifis Teton Medical Center in Choteau, MT. Funeral Services will be held Saturday August 13, 2016 at 11:00 am at the LDS Church in Choteau, MT with a viewing before starting at 10:00 am and burial following at Choteau Cemetery.

Cecilia was born on March 19, 1930 in Armstrong Creek, Wisconsin to Ignatz and Sophie Bertha Stefanski Kadubeck. She grew up in the Armstrong Creek and Argonne areas and attended school there. As a young woman, she lived in Chicago, IL., and worked for Sunbeam on the mixmaster manufacturing line.

When she returned to Argonne, she met and married Gideon Lyle Shepheard on the 18th of September in 1948 in Hebron, Wisconsin.

The Couple lived and worked at various places in Missouri, Illinois and Wisconsin where they ran a dairy farm until they moved to Montana in about 1958 with their two children Janet and Alvin. Once in Montana, they lived in Pendroy and Choteau where Elaine was born.

Cecilia had a love of the elderly and worked a good share of her life as a nurse's aide, cook and in home health tending to the aged.

Her husband, Gideon, died on April 6, 1994 after a brief illness. After his death she sold the family home in Choteau and lived for a time on Elaine's farm on Sunny Slope, tending sheep. Later moving to Augusta, Fairfield and finally settling back in Choteau.

She enjoyed reading, talking, books, gardening, watching nature and rides to the mountains. She had a love for dogs and horses.

Cecilia was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, four brothers Adolph, John, Sylvester, Stanley, Anton (Tony) Kadubeck and her sister Sadie Kadubeck.

Cecilia is survived by her sister Agnes Shibahara of Portland, Oregon, her children Janet (Monte) Adamson of Fairfield, MT; Alvin Shepherd of Avon, MT; and Elaine (Mitch) Peters of Lisco, Nebraska as well as 8 grandchildren Marcus Adamson, Nathan Peters, Tyler Shepherd, Trenton Shepherd, Christine Adamson Sheldon, Nicole Peters Henderson, Amanda Peters Coles and Athena Adamson Degele and 7 great-grandchildren Autumn Sheldon, Amelia Peters, Gideon and Simon Henderson, Mason and Brooklyn Coles and Raidon Sheldon.

Memorials are suggested to Fairfield and Choteau Public Libraries and Bright Eyes Care and Rehab center.
