Bernard was known to some as Dad but to most as "Bugs" or Bernie. He passed away from natural causes on May 21, 2013 at the young age of 67. He was born in Great Falls, MT on June 5, 1945 to Wilmer and Minnie Deshner. He grew up in Great Falls with his parents and 12 brother and sisters. He married the love of his life, Sharon Kathleen Howard, on October 30, 1964. Throughout the 43 years they spent together they had 8 amazing children consisting of 5 girls and 3 boys.
He was a man of many trades, he served in the Marine Corp Reserves and the Army Reserves. He also worked on the railroad, at a saw mill, for the Smelter in Great Falls and lastly as a mechanic who could fix anything! Most of all he was the Cowboy in the tall boots and the ten gallon Cowboy Hat.
He loved spending time with family and friends. Every day was a good day to go fishing or have a barbecue and play horseshoes. Anything that involved family and fun made him the happiest man ever. Working under the hood of a car with his boys was truly one his most favorite things to do.
Bernard Deshner is survived by all 8 of his children, Carol Tuma (Lew) of Malta, Sheila Spargur (Tad) of Choteau, Roy Deshner of Choteau, Bernadette Breckenridge (Tracy) of Ash Flat, AR, Randy-Bear Deshner (Angie) of Evanston, WY, Kert Deshner of Choteau, Edie Parocai (Melvin) of Conrad, Aaron Linquist (Mike) of Choteau. He is also survived by 18 of his grandchildren, Travis, Brandon, Makala, Tyrell, Kyle, Willis, Cheyenne, Bailey-Jane, Brandy (Mark), Zack (Tiffani), Charity, Devan, Brittanie, Andy, Colt, Hope, Logan and Keton. His 3 great grandchildren, Lane, Cooper and Jakary.
Bernard's surviving brothers and sisters include, Liz Allderdice of Great Falls, Dave Deshner (Nancy) of Great Falls, Carol Hall of Vaughn, Franny Roe (Larry) of New Mexico, Kert Deshner of Great Falls, Aaron Deshner (Clara) of Great Falls, Robin Marney (Mr.Bill) of Choteau and Clay Deshner (Carol) of Washington. He is also survived by many other family members of which they are too many to list.
Bernard is proceeded in death by both of his parents, his wife Sharon, grandsons Nathaniel, Kyle and Alex, brothers Dwayne and Mike, and sisters Gordy and Billy.
Our Dad, Bugs, will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Reunited with the love of his life on the floors of Heaven with all those who left before him and in the hands of God.
A Celebration of his life will be held Saturday, May 25, 2013 from 12-4pm at the Marney Residence at 806 1st NE, Choteau, Mt. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Gorder Jensen Funeral Home.
