July 28, 1937 - January 30, 2016

Arliss "Arlie" Schwartz passed away January 30, 2016 in Choteau, MT.

Arliss "Arlie" Arthur Schwartz was born in Havre on July 28, 1937 to Herman and Mildred Schwartz.

In 1941 he moved to Fairfield from Rudyard, MT where the family homesteaded, and he attended the Golden Ridge School a small country school West of Fairfield followed by attending four years at Fairfield High School where he graduated in 1955.

Arlie also attended college in Dillon, MT before serving two years in the Army where he was stationed in Germany.

Arlie worked on ranches, the oil fields, and roped. He had an understanding of animals and followed his dream of training horses and roping. Arlie was an all-around cowboy and stood proud for what he believed in. His Ford truck and horse trailer took him on many adventures and countless encounters with friends old and new. He was never a stranger very long in any town he would stop in.

He had a quick wit and could play a mean pool game. He was a gentle soul and had a talent with horses that was unmatched. He was honored in Wickenburg, AZ on January 20, 2016 with a memorial roping that was an amazing turnout and wonderful tribute to the man he was. Surrounded by friends and family it was the perfect sendoff to come home.
